City of Fremont Launches Social Media Pilot Program
Connect with the City, Fremont Aqua Adventure, Fremont Economic Development, Fremont Family Resource Center, and Fremont Police Department via Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube

November 29, 2011 -The City of Fremont invites you to connect with us, follow us, and view us on several new social networking sites, including Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube. In an on-going effort to connect with residents, businesses, and visitors alike, the City of Fremont is now using these social media tools to provide the public with timely information about City events, public meetings, business news, public safety issues, waterpark activities, workshops at the Fremont Family Resource Center, employment opportunities, and other important topics.
Five City departments and programs, including City of Fremont, Fremont Aqua Adventure, Fremont Economic Development, Fremont Family Resource Center, and Fremont Police Department, are participating in the City’s Social Media Pilot Program. Connect with them on their official Facebook pages. In addition, the City of Fremont and Fremont Police Department’s Twitter accounts were revamped, along with the City of Fremont YouTube channel.
“Keeping up with new avenues of communication is key,” said City Manager Fred Diaz. “Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube are widely used, and give the City a new and immediate way of getting information to the public who use these services.”
